Fertilizer Industry
Fragola SPA in the Powder and Pellet Fertilizer Industry
Fragola is able to supply plants for the production of powder fertilizers, micronized powders, or pellet fertilizers.
Raw material reception can be carried out through:
- truck reception pit with mechanized conveying systems
- unloading by bucket loader / front loader into weighing hoppers equipped with mechanized discharge conveyors
- pneumatic conveying from trucks to storage or process silos
Dosing can be performed using weighed hoppers loaded by bucket loader, or by automatic batching scales fed from silo batteries.
Liquids are handled through storage tanks and dosing lines using two main systems:
- Coriolis flow meters
- weighing systems with buffer tanks for recirculation, optionally equipped with agitators
Grinding is ensured by dedicated hammer mills.
In secondary grinding, micronization of powders can be achieved along with particle size calibration using dedicated screening systems.
The mixer is equipped with a liquid spraying line and can be fitted with a batch-end cleaning system.
Pelletizing represents the final process stage, achieved through heavy-duty presses designed to handle the processing challenges posed by fertilizer materials.
Fertilizer Industry
Fertilizers are strictly linked to agriculture. It is fertilizers, through the replenishment of nutrients in the soil, that increase soil fertility, ensuring high agricultural yields.
An important category of fertilizers is mineral and chemical fertilizers.
These are industrially manufactured products.
The main category consists of NPK fertilizers:
- Nitrogen (N),
- Phosphorus (P),
- Potassium (K).
Nevertheless, there are numerous types and additional elements used in fertilizer formulations.
Fertilizers are available in powder / granular and liquid forms.
Within the framework of an increasingly circular economy, properly treated sewage sludge is also reused as agricultural fertilizer.
